About WEEG
Women are the backbone of communities and economies, yet many women struggle with financial independence, building long-term wealth and living meaningful lives. The situation is even more gory for mature women with kids, over the age of 30 and with marital responsibilities.
While conceptualising WEEG, we surveyed over 400 women entrepreneurs across Nigeria and more than 70% of them, admitted they were not financially independent and that poor family support systems and challenges of running a home, were high contributing factors. This percentage of women also admitted not having had opportunities to proper mentorship or an empowerment grant funding ever before.
Our Economic & Enterprise Grant Program hence aims to help women change this narrative!
To empower women entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs to use resources in their hands and community to drive a personality change and enterprise progress by providing women with essential tools, market access, mentorship, and resources to enhance their wellbeing, achieve a better quality of life, secure sustainable financial independence, and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
True empowerment goes beyond funding—WEEG is therefore not just about grant funding but also life-funding. Beneficiaries will be equipped with skills/training in marketing, packaging, sales, finance management, personal development skills, and knowledge to manage their businesses, finances, and decision making effectively.
WEEG Deliverables

She is a business woman and a mother of 3. Her soap making business has helped her go back to school as an undergraduate even after 3 kids and helped her sustain herself after a domestic violence experience. Mrs K makes soap and can sell 420 pieces under 3 days with a profit margin of about 30%. Currently the high cost of raw materials and lack of access to mentorship on packaging, pricing, branding has limited her business.
WEEG can help her grow her business and impact her society by training other women.
